New Fundraising Opportunity!

February 11th, 2009 | Posted by john in General

The Speed Gamers have generously agreed to do a fundraiser to help with my 3-Day goal. Here’s a little about who they are:

TheSpeedGamers do gaming marathons to raise money for various charities. In total they have raised OVER $15,000 dollars. They are based in the DFW area of Texas and have done fund raisers for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Giggles Therapy, Lupus Foundation of America, and ACT Today (for autism care and treatment). Basically what they do is take a video game and they play it non stop for 72 hours, trying to beat it. During this time they broadcast live feeds of the game and the people playing the game and viewers make donations to the cause they are playing for.

I don’t have any details for when this event will be, but as soon as I do, I will post them. In the meantime, check them out and some of the other events they have had in the past:

More to come soon!
